Zipper & Smudge’s Holiday Shoot

Last week I had the great fun of working with two professional cat models! OK, not really. Zipper and Smudge are two happy tuxedo kitty sisters just livin’ life with their sweet family, but these two brought some major model cat-ergy, even sporting a few hats… for a few seconds until destroying them in fits of claws and teeth. 🙂

I love all animals but I have to admit, it’s a LOT harder to get a cat to pose where you want them than a dog! Anyone whose ever, well, met a cat can attest to that. Luckily I was working with two pretty outgoing cuties here!

Photographing animals is its own type of challenge because often, I see a composition in my mind that I want to shoot. If I was working with a person, I could just ask them to move but the same thing doesn’t often work with animals… least of all cats. 🙂 That’s why it’s even more exciting when the animal moves exactly where I picture them in my head and I get the shot I wanted to. Yesss!
