I never get tired of practicing photography on my boy, Perry. He's an almost 10 year old Dobie now, who I got as a rescue at age 1.5... Last year, he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer), underwent hind leg amputation (recommended for pain control by our vet), and 5 doses of chemotherapy.

I had questioned whether to put him through all of that, although I learned that dog chemo is very different from human chemo, at least for most pups. Perry didn't have any side effects from it and so I felt it had more pros than cons.

Now it's 15 months later with an illness that is usually fatal within 6 months, and Perry remains healthy, happy and pain-free. I am so so glad to have all this extra time with my BFF. He's such a special boy.

I'd love to photograph some other #tripawds out there too!
