CONTACT
THE PROCESS

I can’t wait to work with you. Here’s what to expect…

01. BOOKING AND PLANNING

Once you book your session date and time, and pay the deposit, I’ll send you a guide with tips to prepare for shoot day. I’ll also reach out within 1-2 business days to book a complimentary call with you to learn more about your dog(s) and any specific vision you have for your shoot. (We can also discuss via email or text if preferred.)

02. SHOOT DAY

Before our shoot day, I’ll send you our meeting place, time, directions, and any other preparation information that’s needed. You just show up with your pet and relax! πŸ™‚

Ideally, bring some toys your pet likes to help get those super-cute expressions animals have when they see their favourite things.

03. GALLERY VIEWING

After your session, I’ll get to work on editing the images from our shoot. I’ll select the best ones, spend hours upon hours professionally retouching them (including editing out collars/leashes, if desired!), and compiling them into an online gallery for you to view.

From there, you’ll choose your favourite images and I’ll send you the high quality, print-ready digital files for you to keep, forever. (The number of images included depends on the package chosen – you can always purchase additional images, if desired.)

04. OPTIONAL ADD-ONS!

Some photographers require you to purchase prints and artwork through them. I believe that you paid for your session and should get to keep the high quality files afterwards to do whatever you want with!

I’d always appreciate a tag on social media if you share them – @pawsandclaws.photo!

However, I’m also happy to help you select some great professional-quality print products, including 8×10 and larger sized prints, canvas artwork, and even products like mugs or t-shirts (that I print myself in my print studio!). Just ask if this is something you’d like help with.

frequently asked questions

Each package includes a set number of high quality digital files. You can always order additional files after your session when you view your gallery. πŸ™‚ I limit them because each photo requires hours of editing work, down to fixing stray fur, eye goobers, and more.

I am happy to shoot rain or shine! That said, a soaking wet dog doesn’t make for the best portrait of your BFF. πŸ™‚ If the weather is terrible on our shoot day, we can reschedule at no cost. No worries!

I’m located in Langley, BC though can travel to meet at a location near you within the Metro Vancouver/Fraser Valley area (e.g. downtown out to Abbotsford/Chilliwack). Some favourite spots of mine include Uplands Dog Park, Derby Reach Dog Park, the New Westminster waterfront, and White Rock Pier.

Have somewhere specific in mind? Definitely let me know! We’ll choose a spot together that’s both convenient and also fits the mood/vibes of the shoot.

I’m comfortable working with all breeds of dogs, trained or untrained. It’s easier to get the best images of dogs with a strong recall who can handle some offleash time, however this is not required. If desired, I can edit out collars and leashes from final photos (or leave them in).

The most important factor on shoot day is safety: for your dog, and for anyone else around us, especially if we’ll be in a dog park or public place. I respect leash rules at all locations we shoot in and your dog’s safety and happiness is always my top priority. I aim to make this a FUN experience for your dog, not a stressful one.

We’ll talk about specifics on your planning call, however please note that control of your dog and safety of other dogs/humans while we are out shooting is solely your responsibility and I will not be held liable for any situations that arise from your dog’s behaviour while on shoot.
